Meet our beautiful Kimber!!
Kimber was brought to Friends of the Animals (spay/neuter clinic) to be fixed. I took one look at her and knew that I had to bring her back to the shelter with me.
Kimber was covered with fleas, earmites and was starved for attention. I called her owner and was informed that they had too many cats and would be happy for me to take her.
Getting rid of the fleas and earmites was the easy part. Getting her use to attention was the challenge.
After about a month of lots of love Kimber turned into a lap cat. She Loves to be Loved!! She still is nervous around strangers but once she knows she can trust you she will be a Wonderful pet!!
Kimber is spayed, fully vaccinated & waiting for her forever home.
Meet our big man Sterling!!
This big boy has a heart of gold. Don't let his size fool you....he is a big teddy bear. He is patient & not much bothers him.
He was brought to ALD with his mom and siblings when he was just a couple days old. The rest of his family has been adopted but b/c Sterling grew so fast he was not thought of as a kitten for long and was over looked for the smaller ones.
I am telling you families are missing out with this little guy. He would be great for an older person wanting a friend and great for a family with kids.
Sterling is neutered, fully vaccinated & ready for his forever home!!
Meet Colt, our 3 legged wonder!!
When just a 2 month old kitten Colt was thrown out of a moving car. Thank goodness a sweet lady was not too far behind & saw the kitten on the side of the road. She called me & I had her take him straight to a local vet clinic (Syler). I then went there to meet this little guy.
His bottom lip was torn away from his jaw & he had a broken leg.
The lip was sewed back to normal (cannot even tell anything was wrong) but his leg was more difficult. It was not only broken but he had no feeling in it...which meant nerve damage. We decided to give it a month to see if the nerves would come back but they did not.
He was not able to use that paw and so it would drag on the floor & sores began to develop. It was a hard decision but we had to amputate that leg.
He had the surgery & came home the very next day. I was so worried about how he would get about!
As soon as he was back in the shelter he started running & trying to climb cages!!!! I could not believe it.
He can even climb trees!! It is like he has always had only three legs & knew just what to do.
He is super sweet & would love nothing more than to be loved on all day!!
Colt is 6 months old, neutered, fully vaccinated & waiting for his "forever home".
